Your teachers will perhaps use Studio to integrate video as part of the teaching in Canvas, but you as a student can also use Studio yourself to create or upload videos. You might even be asked to record a video as part of the examination on a course.

Record a video in Studio

With the help of Studio, you can record a video by filming yourself, recording your screen or recording audio. In Studio, there are also simple editing tools. When you have created a recording, it’s easy to upload it as a hand-in assignment. You can also upload a video in Studio and then share or embed it on other learning platforms, websites or blogs.

Record a video in Zoom and upload it to Studio

As a student at Lund University, you have access to and can use Zoom in the same way as  your teachers. In practice, this means that you can start your own meetings and record them – either together with others or by yourself. It’s an alternative to Studio. Zoom is especially good if you have a group hand-in that requires recording, since you can be multiple people in one Zoom meeting while recording.

When you have saved the recording on your computer, it’s easy to upload it to your Studio library in Canvas and then use it in the same way as a video that you have recorded directly in Studio.

Record a video with your mobile and upload it to Studio

You can also use Studio on a phone. Through the Canvas app, you can record videos directly to Studio using the phone camera.
