In Ladok, you can view the courses you are registered for, sign up for exams, check your exam results, and deregister from a course you no longer wish to attend. You can also generate certificates of your results and apply for graduation when the time comes. Below, we’ve listed some important things to keep track of in Ladok.

Update your email address

To avoid missing important information from the university, it is crucial to keep your email address updated in Ladok. You can enter any email address of your choice in Ladok, so choose an email address that you check regularly. If you do not keep these details up-to-date, there is a risk that the university will send information to an email address you no longer use, such as an old email address that you used when you applied to the university. To be on the safe side, log in to Ladok and double-check your contact details under "My Pages."

Make sure that you are registered

Before the start of the course, you will receive information from your course or programme on how to sign up. Some courses allow you to sign yourself up online via Ladok a week before the course begins, while other courses have in-person registration at the introductory session. Make sure to find out what applies for your course if you have not already received this information. If you are not registered, you may risk losing your place on the course or programme. Note that you must register for each new course and each new semester, even if you are continuing with the same course or program as the previous semester.

In order to sign up for a course in Ladok, you must have an activated student account. Your student account is created automatically when you first apply for a course at Lund University. A few days after you have officially been accepted onto your course or programme, you will receive an email with instructions to activate your account.

Once you are registered, you are a student at Lund University and can receive grades for courses. If you are a Swedish citizen and have applied for financial aid through CSN (The Swedish Board of Student Finance), then CSN will automatically be notified that you are a registered student. If you have applied for financial aid via other channels, you may need to double check that they have been notified of your registration as a student at Lund University. Additionally, you can obtain an LU card, which you can use for borrowing library books, for printing or copying, and as an access card. You can obtain an LU card at any of the card offices, which you can find by clicking on the link below.

If you want to re-register

If you want to repeat a course or part of a course during a new semester and, for example, have access to current material on Canvas, you need to re-register for that course. Some programmes allow you to re-register in Ladok, but often you need to contact your course administrator. Keep in mind that a course may not always run in the same format as in a previous semester.

If you want to discontinue your studies

If you drop out of a course after having signed up, you must report this. You deregister from a course via Ladok. If you want to discontinue your studies later than three weeks after the course has begun, you may also need to inform your course administrator or department as well as deregistering via Ladok. The same applies if you have signed up to a programme.
