Ouriginal, previously known as Urkund, is a text matching system that checks a text for originality, primarily to prevent plagiarism. Your lecturer can use Ouriginal to check if you have copied passages from another text.

It is extremely important that you are aware of the University’s rules around referencing and plagiarism, and about the consequences of breaking these rules. In order to help you reference and cite sources correctly, the University’s libraries have created resources and guidelines around academic integrity.

Your lecturer always has the option to have Ouriginal review an assignment submitted through Canvas. Read more about how this works in the student guide.
